Damian started dance at 3 year’s old with tap. He branched out into Jazz, Hip-hop, Contemporary and Ballet. In 2008 he began training at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, and discovered an aptitude for acrobatics.
Damian performed as a child ensemble in Graeme Murphy’s adaption of Nutcracker (2009). He also worked as a dancer/acrobat in Baz Luhrmann’s version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2010).
Following an interest in acrobatics, Damian transferred to the National Institute of Circus Arts, where he trained through 2012-2013.
Finishing high-school, he focused on teaching dance, acrobatics, and circus for various abilities. He also began getting involved in large-scale music and arts festivals via performance. These include ‘After Dark’, a group circus show performed at Falls Festival Marion Bay in 2013/14, and the Opening Ceremony of Earthcore’s 20th Anniversary in 2013.
Throughout 2016, Damian trained fulltime contemporary dance at Transit Dance, expanding in physical and creative ability. In doing this, he worked with Transit Dance Company, learning and performing in ‘Yours Truly’.
Damian is hoping to keep learning about movement, art and self, always expanding physical ability, and is in the process of planning and creating works of his own.
