Emily Sterry is a Birraranga/Melbourne based contemporary dance artist and choreographer.
Originally from Perth, Emily moved to Melbourne in 2016 to attend The Victorian College of the Arts (VCA).
Prior to her move, she worked with Co3’s youth ensemble and completed a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts at The Principal Academy of Dance. During her time at the VCA she worked with artists Becky Hilton, Natalie Abbott, Anna Smith, Gideon Obarzanek, Lina Limosani and Lee Serle, Emily has performed in festivals including Melbourne International Arts Festival, Melbourne Fringe Festival, Strawberry Fields Festival and Golden Plains Festival.
She performed as a part of the volunteer program in Chunky Move’s ‘Accumulation’, as a part of Triennial at NGV Melbourne, a choreographic takeover. Emily has also performed in Stephanie Lakes ‘Colossus’ (2018/2019) and Sam Hammat’s ‘Echo’s Of Purity” (2019).
Emily really loves to dance and has a true passion for the doof!
