Growing up in so-called Melbourne, Zoe Lunar’s journey through movement began at the age of 3, in classical styles. After many years of feeling a pull something more, she moved to Berlin at the age of 16 to explore, and found herself deep in the contemporary arts world.
After returning to Australia, she graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2018. Since then, her purpose has been tied to festival performance after starting a project, Ayivah, alongside Sidney Urban. Her aim is to further cross over the lines between ritual and dance. She aims to spread the accessibility of contemporary dance, and hopes it will gain more importance among the festival scene.
Her constant focus is to come back to the essence of how our movement frees us and to communicate how the beauty of the soul can be projected into the physical.
