Wow, what a year it has been, a journey we all never expected after leaving our magical wonderland of Esoteric. It sure has been tough for everyone out there and we truly hope everyone is staying safe, doing the right thing & looking after your family and loved ones.
But It’s time to fire up and get excited as Esoteric will be back and better than ever! After what has been one of the longest waits since Eso started the team and everyone is ready to go to bring you what will be another world class event.
Before we jump into everything we would also like to thank each and everyone that has provided much appreciated feedback after the 2020 event. The team has not stopped and a lot has all been added and considered, for future events which you’ll also see in the following new changes for the 2021 event
We know how important it is to keep Esoteric around forever for our loyal family and generations to come!

Great News Esotericans! After close consultation with Buloke Shire Council and Local authorities we have the go ahead to plan for our next Event in 2021. This will be subject to the most up to date conditions at the time, but we will be working tirelessly to ensure the wellbeing of all. And let’s be clear, IF IT IS NOT SAFE TO GO AHEAD, WE WON’T GO AHEAD. This means we have full council support to run at a later date if necessary as soon as it is safe to do so. WE ARE ON!
We are moving forward as planned and are excited to announce that we will be an all Aussie event. This gives us an opportunity to focus on bringing the best Australian arts, culture and music talent!
Over the past few years esoteric has grown so quickly and we understand how important it is to make sure Esoteric is here for generations to come. We’ve decided to cut back on the total numbers onsite to keep the family community vibe that you know us for.
Ticketing & Ballots
ESOTERIC 2021 TICKETS ARE 100% SOLD OUT! For those wondering how that happened so quickly, please read below…
We are tightening up the way tickets become accessible so we can maintain familiar positivity within our magical community event. Every single ticket purchased must have the name of the person entering. No longer can you buy extra tickets under one name and claim them for your mates at the gate.
To ensure we can keep the Esoteric Family coming back to enjoy our community over and over, past buyers will again get first priority on tickets.
If you purchased online tickets for ESO 2017, 2018 or 2019 then you will automatically receive a unique code that allows you to purchase up to 2 tickets (one for you and one for a named friend) from Thursday 3 September. You guys are our tribe and we want you to have the first opportunity, so we are giving you a 6 week head start on tickets.
For any remaining tickets, we’ve introducing a ballot system to ensure that tickets are distributed fairly. The ballot to get your name onto the waiting list opened on Tuesday 8 September and closed on Friday 10 October. Ticket ballot applications are now closed and it’s no longer possible to get a ballot. If you missed the chance to get on the ballot then you need to find a friend who did.
From 7pm on Thursday 15 October, those lucky enough to receive a ticket ballot from the draw will get the opportunity to purchase 2 tickets for Esoteric 2021.
On Thursday 15 October there will be more codes issued than tickets available so please note that a ballot does not guarantee you’ll get a ticket as it will still be on a first in best dressed basis. In the unlikely scenario where tickets are not sold out by the 30th of October, then we will release a second round of ballots out to those on the ballot waiting list.
If you intend on using ZipPay payment plans then please ensure you have activated your ZipPay account over the weekend to avoid disappointment in case of delays with your Zip account activation & verification at zip.co.
There will be an email sent out on the Thursday to those who were successful in the ticket ballot draw with instructions on how to buy. Good luck to everyone who entered the ballot, be online, alert and ready next Thursday.
We know everyone is doing things tough at the moment, that’s why we’ve decided to introduce payment plans. This makes it easier for our Esotericans to purchase tickets without having to fork out the cash upfront.
In addition to traditional payment methods, we’re introducing ZipPay as a payment option. If you are planning to use ZipPay, some individuals may require pre-approval. It’s highly recommended to set up your ZipPay account at zip.co in advance to ensure a smooth purchase during the ticketing launch if you decide to use a payment plan.
Tickets are as always first in, best dressed. Once each ticket tier sells out they are done. There will be no extra tiers once we are all sold out.
The timeline for the launch of tickets are;
Thurs 3 September – ESO2017-2019 buyers receive their unique code to buy
Tues 8 September – All other ticket ballots open
Friday 10 September – All ticket ballots close
Thurs 15 October – Successful ballots receive their unique code to buy

Final Round- SOLD OUT
Triniq and Tixel will be the ONLY places where you can transfer a ticket to a new name. All other platforms used to resell or buy 2nd hand tickets will not be accepted as a valid ticket. Do the safe thing, use the two official platforms only to avoid disappointment later. Name changes will be available from December 1st through till February 14th. If your ticket doesn’t match your name, you will be denied entry at the gate.
After consultation with the Buloke Shire Council & relevant authorities, we simply cannot have a long line of vehicles blocking local roads again so we have to introduce a vehicle pass. We must reduce the amount of vehicles impacting the region and encourage carpooling for safer driving. This in turn allows us to adequately plan cars vs campsites to better support and improve our onsite infrastructure including entry road upgrades and your overall festival experience. To achieve this, we recommend utilising transport services offered or carpooling with friends. A single vehicle pass is a requirement for each vehicle entering the site at a low cost of $20 + BF.
Early Entry Pass
We’re also introducing the ability to arrive a day early with an early access pass. This is limited to only a lucky few who’ll gain access on Thursday. There will be some light entertainment on Thursday in the campgrounds for those interested in beating the Friday rush to get in and set up early. Limited Early Access Passes will cost $50 + BF to cover costs of keeping you safe for the extra day. This includes extra traffic management, security, medical, fire patrols plus extra event staffing and operations required for the extra 24 hrs. The early entry will also ease the amount of traffic coming through the gates on the Friday, making entry lines more efficient than ever.

Whilst we know that we are in very uncertain times right now, we’d like to reaffirm that the council and local authorities have instructed us to proceed planning as per normal. If for any reason at all we are unable to proceed on the planned date, then all tickets purchased will be valid, locked and secured, for a postponed event – approved by council. Rest assured if we’re forced to postpone due to COVID19 restrictions and you cannot attend the second event, your ticket will be refunded.
A reminder that our tickets do sell out every year and the opportunity to secure them at the discounted presale tiers will only be available once, so it’s best to lock in early.
