SYNOPSIS:
Learn about the shadow side of post colonial capitalism, culture and religion- what Jung might call the collective shadow. There are a range of different ways in which these extreme power over dynamics play out in Australia from child marriage, domestic servitude, forced labour to brothel based exploitation, cults and
human trafficking.
Drawing on almost a decade of sessions supporting women and girls who experience exploitation, slavery and servitude, the intention of this interactive lecture is advocate and educate on behalf of those with lived experience so that support services and the broader community are aware of the current realities of modern slavery in Australia as well as to share some pathways to healing, recovery and post traumatic growth.

Hear about the risk factors that contribute to being vulnerable to being exploited, how to spot and act on the red flags and a framework to support someone who has experienced exploitation and betrayal trauma. In this interactive session we will explore a Transpersonal, Trauma informed, Expressive Arts approach through the lens of the 3-dimensions of the body that represents the dance that we embark on in the journey of recovery, reclaiming the inner wisdom, power and agency to choose a life beyond enslavement.
