Sarah McCrorie is a Freelance Contemporary Dancer, Dance Teacher and Rehearsal Director based in Naarm, Melbourne. She has been working professionally in the dance and performance industry for 5 years and over that time she has performed in works such as Colossus (2018) by Stephanie Lake Company, ‘A Study of Being’ (2019) by Kayla Douglas, ‘Hard –Cover Crtl’ by Victor Rottier and ‘Hysterics’ by Kayla Douglas, commissioned by Stephanie Lake Company.
Since 2019, Sarah has also worked as a Rehearsal Director for Stephanie Lake Company’s internationally renowned work ‘Colossus’ which has toured within Australia and to more than 10 countries around the globe. Throughout her involvement with Colossus, Sarah has worked with over 600 dancers and her love and passion for teaching and leading spaces has grown immensely. Sarah now continues to expand and breathe life into her teaching practice alongside her performance endeavours.
SYNOPSIS:
A chance for all to dance. This workshop is about creating a safe and experimental space for all people to follow their instincts and allow themselves to be led into free flowing movement. To connect with each-other and yourselves through dance. I especially hope to reach and inspire non dancers to find comfortability in moving their bodies in new and different ways. The workshop will involve a short grounding exercise followed by a guided movement session and cool down led by myself. Come, explore, move, let go and breathe together.
