Presenter: Scott Beibin & Elizabeth Jane Cole

SYNOPSIS:
Offworld.Voyage is an astronaut training project founded by Scott Beibin and Elizabeth Jane Cole that focuses on the design and development of self-contained ecologically sustainable all-vegan space research facilities – intended for use in live immersive simulation missions that solve for interplanetary exploration as well as adaptation to the extremes of a rapidly changing biosphere on Earth. In this talk, inventor and Offworld Voyage founder, Scott Beibin will talk about the design of the M.A.R.S. Tesseract-1 immersive astronaut training facility which he collaborated on with visual wizard, Michael Flood – designed for use in Mars surface analog simulations on Earth – consisting of modular inter-connected dome structures including an enclosed green-hab science lab, fab lab and flow space.
Research activities will include:
• EVAs utilizing sim-spacesuits embedded with biosensors
• On site indoor cultivation of nutrient rich vegan foods (plants, algae + fungi)
• Experiments in development of open source decentralized communications and coordination tools and protocols
• Mission Support / Mission Control training
• Geological analysis and mapping
• Off-grid and autonomous power production
• Exercises in extreme reduction of resource consumption
• Coordinated decision making and collective action
• Community building exercises
• Water purification and re-use
• Composting and re-processing of organic waste
• Creative on-site repair and recycling of all materials

The inaugural mission is currently scheduled to occur in an isolated and remote desert location in late 2025.
