Cuerpo Negro is a music selector and DJ who started out with the aim of sharing the vibrant rhythms of South American Folktronica in Australia. Over time, the project has expanded to incorporate a range of world electronica elements, resulting in a sound that is both innovative and eclectic.
Cuerpo Negro’s sets are thoughtfully curated to take listeners on a sonic journey, weaving together cosmic melodies, tribal percussion, and hypnotic vocals into a seamless and immersive musical experience. His sets focus on progression, exploration, and experimentation.
He has been Part of ISU TAKI and Synergy Collectives and has performed in various venues including Section 8, The Espy, Ferdy durke, Loop bar, Whitehart bar, Bar Oussuo, Howler Theatre, Northcote Social club, Killing time, Lucky Coq in Melbourne and at the Mahico Garden fiesta in the Northern Rivers as well as Echo and bounce and prohibition in Brisbane.
He has shared stages with Rodrigo Gallardo (Chile), Chancha Via Circuito (Arg), Barrio Lindo (Arg), Maugli (Ger), Martha Van Straaten (Ger) and Coco Maria (Mex) to name a few and has been a promoter of Southamerican Culture in Australia.
