AustraliaJason is a true artist at heart, having spent most of his life immersed in the world of underground music. His journey began in Aotearoa, where he developed a passion for music at an early age. With 19 years of experience as a skilled guitar player, he received formal training at the Jazz Conservatory at the New Zealand School of Music, where he honed his craft and developed a deep understanding of music theory and composition.
Jason’s love for electronic music began to grow as he explored the vast landscape of different genres and sounds. Inspired by an immersion into underground electronic music, he began to experiment with different styles and techniques, ultimately leading to the creation of his latest project, Cinemycelium.
Cinemycelium is a unique exploration into organic house, downbeat, and progressive; fusing instruments, found sounds, and synthesis to create intricate and organic soundscapes. The project explores the concept to merge the worlds of cinematic and electronic music, resulting in a captivating and immersive listening experience.
Currently based in Naarm, Jason spends most of his time writing and composing music at his studio in Footscray. He is no stranger to the festival scene, having performed at festivals such as Esoteric Festival in Australia and Twisted Frequency in Aotearoa, leaving audiences in awe with his innovative sound and captivating live performances.
