UKMystic State are an electronic music production duo from Bristol, UK. Comprising of members Mike Holliday & William Marquiss. After perfecting the art of turntablism from their early teens. The pair turned their attention to studying music production, and Mystic State was born.
After years of honing their craft, their crystal clear productions are instantly recognisable. With the duo’s signature sound being a fusion of late 90’s jungle, dub and ambient, layered with film dialogue and intricately placed samples.
In 2020, the duo released their debut solo album ‘’My Own Private Island’’ on their own imprint The Chikara Project. Which was met to critical acclaim. They have also found a steady home for their dubstep output on J:Kenzo’s Artikal Music, where they released EP’s ‘’Mahdi’’ & ‘’Tomahawk’’, both which are widely considered some of the finest dubstep releases of the time and received heavy support from across the scene as well as nominations for best release. Mystic State’s music has received support from titans such as Noisia, Truth, Calibre, Om Unit, Koan Sound & many more.
2023 for the duo brings a brand new solo album forthcoming later on in the year which they know has elevated their sound in monumental ways. Making multiple styles of music is key to the duo, using authenticity as their anchor as they move forward into exciting and unknown territory.
