noom is a Naarm based composer, producer, and DJ working with electronic music, sound design, and interactive media. They are inspired by art that is surreal, experimental, creates shared spaces, and explores experience. With a focus on computer music, noom creates melody-driven idm and ambient soundscapes, as well as live glitchy textures from found sound objects.
They are a regular on the lineup of Make It Up Club and Little Songs of the Mutilated events, and has had electroacoustic work presented in sound galleries at Tilde New Music and Sound Art Festival and the Bendigo International Festival of Exploratory Music. Since releasing their debut EP on Addictech Records, noom has released on labels such as New Weird Australia and Music Company, written commissions for Multicultural Arts Victoria and Signal Arts, Liquid Architecture, and Melbourne Fringe Festival, and performed live and DJ sets for events including Earth Frequency, Esoteric, Tanglewood, and Steeplejack.
